With more than 30 years of experience
Per Haugsted Petersen has worked as a project manager and expert in the waste field for more than 30 years. The tasks have been carried out by the state, municipalities, joint municipalities and the private sector, both nationally and internationally.
The tasks have mainly concentrated on waste planning, source separation, collection and management of household and industrial waste with special emphasis on recycling of both organic material and physical resources in the waste.
But also operational optimization, efficiency in relation to the waste hierarchy, service level, environmental and climate impact, and economic assessments of collection technologies and waste treatment plants have been a large part of Per’s tasks at Ramboll.
Per Haugsted Petersen has gained extensive experience as a project manager and as an expert on projects with source sorting, separate collection and the establishment of treatment facilities for waste resources as well as conducting analyzes, cost benefit, benchmark and environmental and climate effects according to the Life Cycle Thinking approach.
Most recently, as project manager and expert, Per has assisted the Danish Environmental Protection Agency with the preparation of a number of projects that support the value chain for source-separated organic waste (KOD) for use by both municipalities and the market.
